Tarzan of the Apes

Tarzan of the Apes is a book by Edgar Rice Burroughs about a man and his wife who set out on a ship. They are stuck in the middle of a mutiny, and are dropped off on an island in the middle of nowhere. There, they have a son, but soon they are killed by the mighty apes living there. A mother ape named Kala,who had recently lost a baby,took the little human baby in. Tarzan is raised up as an ape, and is mocked and made fun of by the other apes for his human appearance. He is smarter than the other apes, however, and is able to escape more dangers with his intelligence. When other humans step onto the island in the middle of nowhere for the first time, Tarzan is about to have the adventure of his life. . . .
